Lando Norris claimed victory at the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix after surviving a dramatic race at Circuit Zandvoort on Sunday, August 23, 2026. The McLaren driver crossed the finish line ahead of Kimi Antonelli and George Russell, giving Mercedes the final two places on the podium.

Norris Started from Pole Position
Norris entered the race with a strong advantage after securing pole position in qualifying with a lap time of 1 minute, 11.163 seconds. Russell started second, followed by Antonelli and Oscar Piastri.

Verstappen Crash Brings Out Red Flag
Verstappen lost control of his Red Bull and hit the barriers, leaving debris scattered across the track. The incident forced race officials to stop the race with a red flag.
The Dutch driver was reported to be okay after the crash, but his race ended immediately. It was a major disappointment for the home crowd, especially as Verstappen had started from seventh place and was hoping to challenge for a strong result at Zandvoort.

Antonelli Briefly Takes the Lead

Russell finished third to give Mercedes two drivers on the podium.
Lewis Hamilton ended the race in fourth place for Ferrari, narrowly ahead of teammate Charles Leclerc in fifth. Oscar Piastri finished sixth for McLaren, while Liam Lawson took seventh for Red Bull.
Nico Hulkenberg brought Audi home in eighth place, Fernando Alonso finished ninth for Aston Martin, and Pierre Gasly completed the top 10 for Alpine.

Another Important Win for Norris
The victory in the Netherlands became Norris’ second Grand Prix win of the 2026 season after previously taking first place in Hungary.
The result also gave him valuable points in the Drivers’ Championship. Antonelli remained at the top of the standings with a significant advantage, but Norris strengthened his position in the fight behind the championship leader.
